Chemistry Major Senior Session at UNC Charlotte With Emma

Okay — I have to start by saying Emma was one of those seniors who instantly made you feel like you'd known her for years. From our very first message to waving goodbye at the end of the session, she was kind, bubbly, excited, and just so much fun to work with.

We photographed all around campus right in the middle of fall — the leaves were doing their best autumn show-off in the background, and we were fully here for it. Our first main stop was Klein Hall, where the warm colourful trees paired perfectly with the science major building. Emma is graduating with a chemistry degree and a biology minor, and you could really feel how much she enjoyed her passion — so naturally we went all-in on a creative science theme!

Speaking of props — she came PREPARED.
Not only did she bring a science flask (so cool), she also brought a bottle of ibuprofen — which led to the cutest and funniest mini “medicine” photos, a nod to her big next adventure… Emma was accepted into pharmacy school and will be heading to UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy next August — how exciting is that!?

One of my favourite parts of her shoot was capturing her pouring champagne into the science flask — like a little “chemistry meets celebration” moment. We even did a few shots of her popping champagne at the Union Overlook! Her aunt joined the session too — aka the ultimate hype woman. She helped hold props, fix hair, make Emma laugh, and honestly just made the whole session feel like a photoshoot-meets-girl’s day on campus.

I always ask my seniors this question: “What’s the most valuable lesson you learned during college?”

Her answer was simple, sweet, and SO real:

“The people you surround yourself with make your experience.”

It couldn’t be more true — and it’s such a perfect reflection of Emma herself. Thoughtful, grounded, and grateful for her people.

By the end of our campus walk, we were laughing, celebrating with champagne, and grabbing the most gorgeous fall-colored senior photos. Emma, thank you for being such a joy to photograph — I already know pharmacy school is going to love you!
