Behind the Scenes of My 2027 Senior Rep Team | Charlotte Senior Photographer
If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you’ve probably seen a little bit of what my 2027 Senior Rep Team has been up to! This is my first year having a senior rep team, and I can honestly say I LOVE it. It has been so much fun planning these shoots, watching the girls get to know one another, and creating something a little different from my usual senior sessions.
I wanted to share a little behind-the-scenes look at what we’ve been up to so far, what we have planned for the rest of the year, and why I think being part of a senior rep team is such a fun way to make your senior year even more memorable!
And if you’re a Class of 2028 senior, keep reading because the waitlist for next year’s team is open!

What Is a Senior Rep Team?
My senior rep team is a group of high school seniors who get to be part of something a little extra during their senior year! Along with their own senior experience, the girls get to participate in styled group photoshoots throughout the year, try different looks and themes, meet other seniors, and make memories along the way.
One of my favorite parts is that every shoot has its own theme. Instead of doing the same type of photos every time, we get to play with different outfits, locations, colors, and creative ideas. It gives the girls so many different photos to share throughout the year, and it gives me the chance to try new things creatively, too!
Now that we’re a few shoots into the 2027 season, I can already say this has been one of my favorite things I’ve added to my business.
Our 2027 Senior Rep Team So Far
Kicking Things Off With Our Meet & Greet
We started the year with a meet and greet where the girls got to meet one another, take some photos, make their own keychains, and go over everything we had planned for the year.
I loved being able to get everyone together before our first official shoot. It's always a little nerve-racking meeting a group of new people, so having that time to hang out and get comfortable with one another made the perfect start to the year. We got to talk through all the upcoming themes, share ideas, and get excited about everything to come!
Shoot One: European-Inspired Coastal Photos on Lake Norman
Our first official shoot was a European-inspired coastal session on Lake Norman, and it was such a fun way to kick things off!
Of course, because it's summer in North Carolina, we were also fighting the summer storms. We had to work around the weather, but we made it through the shoot, and I was so happy with how everything came together.
I loved the outfits, the coastal-inspired feel, and getting to see the girls start to get comfortable in front of the camera together. It was the perfect introduction to what these group shoots would be like!
Shoot Two: A Sherbet-Colored Day at Camp North End
For our second shoot, we headed to Camp North End for a fun, sherbet-inspired session! Think playful colors, fun outfits, and a little ice cream break in the middle.
The girls brought their senior jeans, and we spent the evening taking photos, hanging out, and enjoying some ice cream together. I loved how different this shoot felt from our first one. Each session gives us a completely new look, and that's one of my favorite things about planning the team shoots.
It was also another chance for the girls to spend time together outside of the camera, and those little moments are becoming just as special as the photos themselves.
Shoot Three: All Things Polka Dots at UNCC
Our third shoot was all about polka dots! We headed to UNC Charlotte for an editorial-inspired session that felt like the perfect way to kick off the school year.
This one was a little more fashion-forward, and the girls absolutely KILLED it with their outfits. I loved seeing everyone's take on the theme and how we could create such a different look just by changing up the styling.
This shoot has been one of my favorites so far because it really pushed me creatively. I love photographing seniors in a way that feels like them, but having a specific theme gives me the freedom to experiment with new ideas, poses, and compositions.
And of course, we had to make some TikToks along the way! Filming little behind-the-scenes moments has become part of the fun at each shoot, and I love having those memories to look back on.
What's Coming Up Next?
We still have so much planned for the rest of the 2027 season, and I can't wait to see everything come together!
Fall: Denim at the Park
For our next shoot, we're going with a denim-inspired look at a park surrounded by fall leaves. I love the idea of combining classic denim with all the beautiful fall colors. It's going to be such a fun seasonal session!
December: A Cozy Holiday Studio Shoot
Next up is a cozy studio session for the holidays. This one will have a completely different feel from our outdoor shoots, and I'm excited to bring everyone inside for something a little warmer and more festive.
March: A Fresh Spring Session
We'll welcome spring with another styled shoot in March! We're still looking forward to this one, but I love having a spring session on the calendar to give the girls another fun opportunity to get together and create something new.
May: Cap & Gown + College Tees
We'll finish the year with one of my favorite senior milestones: cap and gown photos, along with college tees! It's such a fun way to celebrate how far the girls have come and everything waiting for them after graduation.
I love that the team experience doesn't just happen all at once. We get to document different parts of their senior year, from the start of school all the way through graduation season.

My Favorite Part of Being a Senior Rep Team Photographer
As much as I love planning the themes and seeing all the photos come together, my favorite part of this experience has been watching the girls build friendships.
At the beginning of the year, everyone was still getting to know one another. Now, each time we get together, I can see those friendships growing. They're chatting, laughing, helping each other with outfits, taking photos together, and making TikToks. It's been so fun to watch! I also love seeing the girls share their photos, especially their Senior Sunday posts. Senior year goes by so quickly, and getting to celebrate these little milestones along the way makes the experience even more special.
For me personally, this team has pushed me to grow as a photographer, too. A lot of my regular sessions are focused on capturing each senior's individual personality, which I absolutely love. But the rep team gives me the opportunity to think outside the box and get creative with each shoot. I'm constantly thinking about new themes, how to make each session feel different, and how to bring an idea to life. It's challenged me to push my creative ideas a little further with every shoot, and I think that's made me a better photographer.
It's been such a fun reminder that photography is about more than just taking pretty pictures. It's also about creating experiences, bringing people together, and giving people something to look back on.
